Winter Asks

A bit of fun now for some cold Wintery Days, we set Emily some questions to answer so you can get to know the SB team.

Best Way to spend a wintery day? A walk in the woods and then to the pub for something rich with a glass of red wine. Winter Wardrobe favourites? My Sorel boots for snowy days. Favourite type of weather? Those really crispy bright sunny days where it's super cold and thick with frost.Describe your winter aesthetic? Goblin who is also a librarian.Favourite films to watch in winter? Lord of the Rings. It's always Lord of the Rings, I can never get tired of them What are small things you enjoy in Winter? Lighting the fire, sunshine on the frost, twinkly lights in the eveningWhat is winter like where you live? Cold & damp, but we’re lucky enough to be in a part of the country that will get a reasonable amount of snow at some point in the Winter.Favourite scented candle? Currently it's our Warm Embrace scent. Perfect for hibernation nights.Do you like staying in or going out? Staying in, I like dinner parties & cocktails. What books are you reading this winter? I just finished "What the Bears Know" by Steve Searles, I'm on a real binge of Natural History books at the moment, if you like you can keep up with my reading on Goodreads and I'm always open to recommendations there too. What's on your winter bucket list? A hot chocolate and a walk along the Tyne.Songs that remind you of winter? Spice Girls, 2 Become 1. Obviously because of the music video in Wintery London and my age. I am of the Spice Girls generation.(Ginger Spice was obviously my favourite) Favourite type of cookie or biscuit? I absolutely love Lu Salted Butter Biscuits. I can eat a packet of them in one sitting. Ideal winter destination? Canada, I would like to see some proper snow! And a moose, from a safe distance. Favourite board games? Big big fan of Ticket to Ride. I've got the long track moves, it's all about the coast to coast. Describe your night routine: If it's a Saturday night then we have Radio 2 on, we love Rylan followed by Liza Tarbuck, I'll crack open a bottle of wine, we might have a kitchen dance party before we have dinner, hopefully cooked by my husband as he is a better chef than me. Then it's settle my baby to bed and play some board games with my husband while we put the world to rights or play each other some records. What makes you feel cosy? I'm a big fan of a log fire, a cosy blanket and my cat. Perfect combo. What's your drink this winter? It's always red wine but I have been loving a red vermouth over icewith a slice of orange this year. Very nice.  A Winter must have? Lip balm, Winter does terrible things to my skin and I need all the moisturising top up I can get.  Your Wintery comfort food? Beef Stew, mashed potato and red cabbage.
